The Resident Kensington review

Wonderful hotel!!!! Comfortable and clean room with a nice garden view (and a complimentary upgrade). The bathroom is huge—with a cool skylight! The kitchenette is so useful. They also let me use the comfortable lobby for a Zoom meeting after checking out.

This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. Perfectly situated for a solo-trip in London, the hotel exceeded expectations in every category. The staff were warm, welcoming, attentive, and understanding. The room was perfect – with the bonus kitchenette that really made a difference. All of the small details were key for a perfect stay. I can’t wait to return!

I spent two nights there. While the accommodation was nice and the staff friendly, I was struck by the noise coming from outside my bedroom in such a quiet area of London. I was on the top floor and couldn’t keep my window open due to an electric/buzzing sound outside. On the second night, after going out for a walk, I realized the noise was coming from the top of the hotel’s roof itself. Their own aircon system!?! How unpleasant for the whole neighborhood! I would not return and cannot recommend it. Although it’s in a lovely area of London, the hotel itself is not acting on such issues, a shame.

I want to write a stellar review for this place because the people there were so incredibly kind and it was in a lovely location (right near the tube!). The rooms are incredibly small though. I had read reviews that they are small but they are truly tiny. I had to buy a second room because the double beds are really meant for 1. The rooms have little space to move around in and we had to inch our way past one another. I also bonked my head a couple of times and banged my elbow because it was so tight. Each room had shower issues (one with very light pressure and the other with super hot and then super cold temps), and one of the rooms had a wonky toilet where you had to push the button multiple times for it to work.

However, they do have cocktail hour with free drinks, and it is lovely to sit in the lobby and chat with your travel buddies. And, like I said, the staff was fabulous. I would just recommend either getting the bigger rooms (or only getting the smaller ones if you are a solo traveler).

Also, if you stay here, you MUST go to the nearby Lebanese restaurant (I think Orjowan). The best food I had in London.

Our stay at The Resident Kensington was absolutely amazing! Our room was great and very clean and the location was perfect, right next to the tube. However, it was the staff that made our stay phenomenal. They were very welcoming, happy to answer all of our enquiries and went above and beyond for my partner and I to make our stay more relaxing! Would recommend this place to anyone. My partner and I will definitely be staying here next time we visit the area.
