St Christopher’s Inn London Bridge review
There were however a couple of major issues to be addressed:
– Toilets were constantly out of order on my floor.
– There’s no kitchen, which is a basic need for most people doing budget travel, so you’re forced to buy food at the hostel or go out.
– The luggage storage requires a lock, and based on some reviews stuff has been stolen, so I think they should provide you with a lock or at least let you know in advance you will be needing one. You can rent one at the front desk for £4.
– There’s no way to control the heating inside the room and it was so warm at night it was hard to sleep. The street and the bar are too loud so you can’t really open the windows much.
– The female only dorm rooms shouldn’t be more expensive. It has no extra cost for the hostel than the mixed rooms, and for girls traveling alone is just a way to feel safer.
Great:
The sleeping pods are amazing, it truly elevates the hostel experience.
The (sleeping pod) bathrooms were always clean
Not great:
No kitchen
An app for your keys (come on)
No mixers/programming
Noisy but who cares
Note to staff:
– very squeaky lockers in the pod room. It would wake people up if I accessed them early or late.
However, My first stay at this hostel wasn’t very pleasant.
Following check-in, I was surprised to find that accessing the room required downloading an app, a somewhat impractical alternative to a conventional key card or key. Had to fill all my personal information to access the app, raising privacy concerns.
The room itself proved less than satisfactory; it had an unpleasant odor, lacked proper ventilation with no exhaust, and the bed curtains were insufficient in size for adequate privacy.
The windows in the room did not provide sufficient sound insulation, allowing external vehicle noise to disrupt the overall experience.
Additionally, the limited seating options, restricted to two tables near the reception, made it challenging to find a comfortable space to relax.
So if you are someone who wants to sleep and wake up early, this hostel is definitely not the right choice. The bathrooms are very dirty, and I would blame the people who uses them, because every single person is an adult and has no common sense of cleanliness. The staff at the reception are rude and are not supportive enough for their own clients.
I would only recommend this place if you do not want to sleep when you are in London.
