The Savoy review

Booked 2 rooms and stayed one night for my in-law’s 70th birthday. The hotel was informed a month in advance, but they didn’t prepare anything special besides a chocolate bar with a ‘happy birthday’ message, which was placed in the wrong room. During check-in, we had to prompt the staff about the benefits of being a Platinum member of Accord. When we got to our ‘upgraded room,’ there were no amenities besides a voucher for 2 drinks (vouchers in an establishment of this category are not proper). There was no recognition for our loyalty level, no welcome back, or appreciation. We had dinner at the Savoy Grill, which was excellent in terms of food and service. When we checked out, the staff didn’t ask about our stay. An email has been sent to guest services; we were told that whenever we come back, they will provide a room with a better view. However, it’s too late because we won’t return. I do not recommend this place for a special celebration, apart from the restaurant. Don’t be fooled by the name. Just before checking into this hotel, we spent 3 nights in another 5-star hotel in London, and they were at the top of their game

Treat yourself and stay at The Savoy! Walking distance to theatre land, a pleasant relaxed atmosphere and staff who genuinely enjoy their job.
Great cocktails in the American bar too. OK, it’s not cheap, but it’s worth going overdrawn for. I know, I have!

The building is amazing and well cared for. The staff are welcoming, friendly and attentive. We had afternoon tea as a milestone birthday celebration for a relative. The food was very scrummy and not too much of it. A lovely birthday flourish is available to make the recipient feel extra special. Beats the competition in Knightsbridge by miles.
However, note the following: the hotel is very busy on a Saturday and afternoon tea is in sittings. While the staff don’t rush you, they will ask you to vacate the table. Also, the teapots are not kept on the table, so the flow of tea is down to the staff to top you up.

This was one of the most memorable experiences I have ever had the pleasure of. The staff at the Savoy make you feel like royalty from the second you arrive and all throughout your stay, rooms are amazing, best night sleep ever. The Food is a taste bud sensation, an explosion of delight. Can’t wait to for our return visit.

Enjoyed Valentines Traditional Afternoon Tea. Excellent. Our server Manuela was so helpful and her recommendations were excellent. I had the Darjeeling Moonlight tea by her recommendation, a Savoy exculsive- divine. She also suggested trying the lemon curd on the chocolate mousse cake, would not have thought to do that but it lifts the whole thing to a different level. In the sandwiches, the Coronation Chicken or the Beetroot and Rose Hearts were the stars.
All in all a great experience
