Millennium & Copthorne Hotels at Chelsea Football Club review

Giovanni Sperti
OK hotel, would give a 2,5 stars if I could as its average.

Shower is basic, TV in room was small. But as an Italian to be charged £6 for two espressos at breakfast is a sin. This should be a basic offering at any hotel serving breakfast, let alone one in the middle of Chelsea!

On a positive the staff were excellent and would be deserving of 5 stars, and if you are going to a Chelsea game the location is as good as your going to get.

Mediocre hotel, rude hotel manager and apparently hotel reservation does not mean anything

——————————————

I booked this hotel for two nights as I was attending a conference nearby.

I arrived at the hotel late in the evening after a relatively long journey. It was a game night and the hotel was full of supporters. I was told then I didn’t have a room, turned out they do overbooking and chose to give my room away to another person.

They did rebook me into another hotel for this first night but this incident had quite some consequences on my schedule and agenda.

In the end, I am the most unhappy about how I was treated as the hotel manager was pretty rude and never properly apologized. She also refused any kind of compensation except for drink vouchers. I also saw her shout at other unhappy clients in the same situation as me.

On the hotel itself, the rooms are quite spacious for London, however it is a bit run down. My shower did not work properly and the bathtub was clogged.

On a positive note, the staff except for the hotel manager was friendly and helpful.

Hotel is in every nice location. From the outside it looks really cool, inside is okay. Overall a good hotel, staff tends to not be friendly at all or welcoming. Rooms are nicely decorated but last time the bathroom’s hotel was filthy and not in good state overall. Housekeeping came in while we were sleeping at 7am. We didn’t use services of the restaurant/bar so can’t speak about it. Overall it’s overpriced for what you get. Don’t think I’ll stay again.

The hotel is very tired and basic. The beds are not very comfortable at all, you may find more comfortable sleeping on the old carpet floor.

Showers are basic/small with an old curtain.

The ‘up’ elevator has been broken for some time during my visit with the hazard warning tape looking tired.

Housekeeping cleaned the room well.

Location is the only minor positive.

Favourite hotel of mine for years, yes parts a little tired but I notice improvements with new carpeting in hallways & in the room I had. Friendly staff from reception to the bar. Shout out to Neil (apologies to him re his title, I think Manager or Duty Manager) based on this visit he has the staff doing a great customer service operation.
