ibis London Earls Court review

this is an average hotel in a good location. during our stay, there were works in the hotel (I think they are still going on) and it was not mentioned anywhere when booking. they only tell you when you come to check in. it is very noisy, regardless of whether you are on the middle or higher floors. noise is from 8-17:30 during the working week. the restaurant has also been moved to the ground floor and it is very hot there. with minor improvements it would be a great hotel. they must improve the cleanliness of the rooms!!! the bedside tables were never cleaned and we found them already dirty when we arrived. all with traces of cups and mugs from previous guests. we found the toilet seat dirty. we stayed in both old and new rooms. there was no chicken salami for breakfast, because not everyone can eat pork. also, not once did we find bananas on offer, only fresh oranges. when asked by the staff and the restaurant whether it is possible to add chicken or turkey salami, as well as say cheese, we received a negative answer. a couple of times there was no baguette bread, and when asked if they could refill it, the staff’s answer was that there wasn’t because they didn’t bake it. also, it is very unpleasant when you wait in line behind the hotel staff at breakfast for them to pour themselves coffee, even though at that moment they should still be working on serving guests during breakfast. all this can be done after the guest has finished breakfast. breakfast is too expensive for what they offer. the location is great. the metro station is a 3-minute walk away, as is the overground train station. the bus station is right in front of the hotel. a minute from the hotel there is a small shop where you can buy water, juice, cigarettes, fruit, some snacks.

Emailed prior requesting an upgrade due to a special occasion that was being celebrated and the lovely receptionists were kind enough to upgrade us to one of the newly refurbished executive rooms. We were also given comp drink vouchers upon arrival! Honestly, the room was perfect for 1-2 night stay, has everything you need. It is rather small but you cannot fault it. The layout is stunning and we had a nice view from the room too. The TV was huge and we were able watch football live which was also a plus. The only thing I’d say is I hope they do plan on renovating the reception/bar area as I’d say it’s quite outdated. The colour theme alongside the carpets gives a real 80s vibe and I wonder if they intend to match the aesthetic of the refurbished rooms over time. Overall, I’d recommend staying here!

I have been very impressed with my stay at Ibis here in Earls Court. The whole staff and the service provided at the restaurant within was beyond exceptional. Every one has been extremely polite, helpful, and accommodating. The food was also incredibly good. I ate here twice during my stay and was blow away by how good the food was. The menu is also quite extensive with many great options that are suitable for all. Thank you to Lukasz who was extra helpful and attentive during my stay.

Stayed there 3 nights for business trip. Location is handy for underground and it does have a carpark.
We had a refurbished room, small but clean and tidy. TV doesn’t allow plug in devices and the screen casting didn’t work so you’re stuck with regular TV.
Hotel is undergoing refurbishment so a pass can be given for reception area with wires hanging down over reception desks. I hate wires showing over reception desks very untidy and unprofessional, however it may be temporary.
The bar area, is apparently getting moved upstairs at sometime, meanwhile it looks like someone has taken an acid tab and went nuts with multi coloured paint and fabric. It is beyond doubt the worst bar area I have ever seen. I cannot believe someone was paid to design that. Management should take the multi coloured fabric down and leave as is until new bar is ready. We couldn’t even bear to sit in it and had to leave. it reminded me of the recent ‘ wonka experience’ in Glasgow.
Breakfast was excellent, but pricey at £14.95, however if you aren’t big on breakfast go for the cheaper continental option. It seemed to be it is as a free for all inside anyway regards who ate what regardless of price paid.
Would I stay here again? Yes.

Iver added to this review.
The ‘negative’ point I raised were I believe to be temporary and ,
the hotel will be exceptional when completed.
We left the bar not because of service or foo, we didn’t stay for food or drink). We had to leave because one of of our colleagues is on the lower end of Autism spectrum and was becoming increasingly distressed by the lack of ‘order’ regards the decor. Too much was going on in one room for them.
I only post this explain I wasn’t just being nasty for sake of it.
I also foolishly forgot to mention a very important thing. All the staff we encountered were at all times extremely, well spoken, well dressed, groomed,
Helpful and polite
A rare find in large hotels.

I’m changing from 4 stars to 5 because I’d neglected that aspect and do believe the flaws I m mentioned are temporary
