Hilton London Gatwick Airport review
The room is quite big and nice. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast (buffet) was really good. Overall, I would recommend this place.
The room was clean and spacious. The flush in the toilet only had one button working and the bed felt like it was tilted to one side. Both minor things but need attention.
Breakfast was very good with a full buffet of English and continental breakfast. Overall a good stay đź‘Ť.
We were on the 4th floor in one of their exec rooms, which required walking to the annex of the hotel. It would be easier if the rooms related to the floor they were on. It just felt more of an effort than it needed to be.
We used the exec lounge which was great and the staff were really friendly. We had dinner in the Garden Restaurant, which is below average. You pay £20+ for a main which is nothing special , very basic and could do better in a local pub. I o never understand why airport Hilton’s trap their customers to serve just average food. It’s such a poor experience in the evening.
On a plus side, breakfast was very good.
Give plenty of time to get out the hotel to the airport as it’s quite a walk!
Unfortunately for us, upon checking in we were messed around significantly. We were offered a complimentary upgrade which we happily accepted and appreciated the offer of one. We reached our room, put our bags down and then almost immediately got a phone call telling us we must head back downstairs as there they “think there’s an issue with the room”. Surely if there is an issue the room wouldn’t have been allocated? And to say you “think there’s an issue” makes out as if you are just lying. We went back to reception and no one could really explain the mishap. We were then told we need to head to a different floor in another area of the hotel and use that new room instead.
It’s gone 11pm and with 3 bags and a very long day of stressful travelling, this was hugely frustrating and disappointing.
Not sure if anyone else has had any issues however this definitely needs flagging because it’s unacceptable to make guests run around changing rooms due to no fault of their own. This isn’t what I’d expect from a luxury hotel such as Hilton.
